Memorialization Options Following Cremation
Memorialization is a tradition that has been practiced through the centuries. Memorialization helps us to remember and be remembered.
Swan Point is pleased to offer a variety of settings to memorialize your loved one who chooses to be cremated.
A columbarium is a structure containing vaults lined with recesses or niches for cinerary urns. You may choose inurnment in a niche in one of our three Columbaria. These niches are available in the interior of the Columbarium, or in the exterior walls facing the gardens.
An additional alternative is the scattering of remains in Memorial Grove, a lovely outdoor, park-like area highlighted by a megalith. Memorialization on a common ledger stone is included with scattering.
For those who prefer an outdoor setting, the Garden Columbarium offers granite-fronted niches built into a wall that surrounds the garden.
This rustic gazebo is located in the historic section of the cemetery. This tranquil location, with its sweeping views of the Seekonk River has been dedicated to cremation burial. Each cremation lot will accommodate two individuals. Small upright markers reminiscent of older historic lots memorialize those buried at The Stranger’s Rest.
Urn and Keepsake Pendants
To remember your loved one in a very special way, we offer a selection of cremation keepsake pendants, lockets and urns.
Traditional Earth Burial
Many families still prefer to memorialize the cremated remains of their loved ones through disposition in a grave site.
Stained Glass Windows
Another option for memorialization is to have a loved one’s name inscribed on a stained glass window in one of our chapels or columbaria.
